Meet Dr. Gjertsen
Dr. Gjertsen received her undergraduate degree in biology and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch Houston. She then completed a three-year residency program in Endodontics and received a Certificate in Endodontics and a Master’s of Science Degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch Houston. She was the recipient of a Student Achievement Award in Endodontics from the American Association of Endodontists, and a Student Achievement Award from the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities.
Dr. Gjertsen is a specialist member of the American Association of Endodontists, the Connecticut Association of Endodontists, and a member of the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Greater Norwalk Dental Society. Dr. Gjertsen is an active member of the Seattle Study Club, Greenwich component and the Spear Study Club, Norwalk component. Dr. Gjertsen is active with the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA), and was elected to the Board of Governors of the CSDA and has served in this role since 2014. She is also the Treasurer for the Greater Norwalk Dental Society. Dr. Gjertsen has achieved the status of Board Eligible from the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Gjertsen has a special interest in the field of dental trauma, and much of her research, including her Master’s Thesis research project, was related to trauma.
Dr. Gjertsen resides in nearby New Canaan with her two teenage daughters.
